New type of election hustings in Barnet.

Next Monday we will have a very unusual election hustings for the Green Party London Assembly Londonwide list. It's a mixture of traditional hustings and speed dating.

Naturally, as a candidate, I will be taking part and I hope loads of friends and supporters will turn up.
Please cascade this message to all those interested.

Details from Barnet & Camden Green Parties below

Sign up now at http://bit.ly/1fQ0x4i for our exciting local hustings in North Finchley on Monday 27th July for candidates seeking selection to be the Green Mayoral candidate or onto the Green Party list for next year's London Assembly elections.

The top two on the list are very likely to be elected to the London Assembly next year and this is your best chance to put your own questions to the Greens who will replace Jenny Jones and Darren Johnson on the Assembly.
You are guaranteed to be able to put your questions, as the main part of the meeting will take a 'speed-dating' format, with each candidate sat at her or his own table ready to answer your questions individually in five-minute 'dates'.
This will be your opportunity to raise your own issues with candidates and it should be a memorable evening, so don't miss it!
The hustings will be from 7pm downstairs at the Bohemia in High Road, North Finchley, N12 9QH, finishing at about 9pm. The Bohemia is 10 minutes' walk from Woodside Park tube station and is very near to bus stops on the 86, 125, 134, 221, 263 and 460 bus routes.
We look forward to seeing you. Please forward this invitation to other members of your local party. There is plenty of room for all!

Barnet Unison attack

The Green Party Trade Union group and Brent Green Party condemn the vandalism and homophobic abuse directed at John Burgess, Barnet Unison Secretary.  John, like many other Trades Unionists is involved in opposition to the London borough of Barnet’s extreme free market policies and also to an avowedly anti-Semitic demonstration scheduled to take place in Golders Green. He had also been a participant in the recent Pride march.
On all these counts we wish to send our support to John. The Green Party opposes free market based austerity and privatisation policies, it opposes racism and it opposes homophobia. We are grateful that Trades Unionists, like  John, stand up against such obnoxious tendencies and we hope we will be able to work together to defeat them.

Green Room closing in Archway

This email appeared in an e-group during the week :-)

Oh no! The centre of the universe is to become a black hole. Dev House may be the Green Party's nominal HQ but everyone knows where the real centre of power is. Of course, Noel won't have time to run the Green Room when he's back on the London Assembly but where will we all collect our leaflets, placards etc? Let's just hope someone comes up with some suitable storage space. Cheers, &&&&&&

Endorsements

Green Party selection for the London Assembly List.
Endorsements are piling in to support my campaign.

Here are two  of the latest:

Professional politicians can be one dimensional automatons who go into 'sleep mode' away from meetings and TV cameras. In contrast Noel Lynch has more dimensions than Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!  He is a man with a crowded hinterland of interests and an insatiable interest in people as well as issues and policies. His commitment to environmental and social justice is grounded in life experience as well as in sharp intellectual analysis and debate. Put him high on the GLA list to so that he can shake up the London Assembly and subject the new Mayor to incisive scrutiny. There are also bound to be a few laughs along the way...

And another from Clare Lewis of Haringey GP:

I have known Noel for the best part of 30 years, ever since he first joined Tottenham Green Party in 1988.  He has played a wide-ranging and substantial role in promoting Green politics over that time and he is one of the most dedicated and committed Greens I have ever met.  He is always happy to be contacted and is absolutely tireless in his support for local parties in London.  I am delighted to support his bid to rejoin the London Assembly.
